Time to get down on Friday

Program Diagram for a 1,000,000 sq.ft. museum. Split 33% into Cultural [Grey], Making [Teal], and Living [Orange] components. More detail coming of the explanation of how this exactly works, but studio has become an excuse for me to make cool things, which I feel like has been the point all along.

Song of the week

Back in action

It's been awhile, but I'm going to try and get back to updating, not once a month, but EVERY DAY. Pretty exciting I know, try and contain your excitement. I'm going to be posting about some cool stuff happening around Chicago and also the work that I'm doing right now.

Fun first

Looks like a great event from a great magazine, this Friday. Some UIC faculty [Andy Moddrell http://portarchitects.com/] as well as other interesting people [Stuart Hicks, http://www.designwith.co/]
Check out the 'Download / Purchase' section of mas-context for their archived magazines, worth it.

Studio
Fragment from RFP, Professor: Jimenez Lai

A beginning study of a how displacement and confusion can influence new architectural experience and event. Splicing confusing pieces of floor plans together, i.e. maximum open space [Rem Koolhaas, "Typical Plan"] or plans pre hallway [i.e. Robin Evans, "Figures, Doors, and Passages"] with regularized pieces, i.e. [The British Museum, Robert Smirke] hopefully resulting in unbridled confusion.
